For me the thing about a poet/writer is that we appreciate words a little too much sometimes because words inspire us but words can also break us. We take things much more heavily when it comes to the truth and the only way you’d know how we feel is if you read our writing.
However the cruel part isn’t knowing how we feel. It’s the question you ask yourself, “Is this about me?”
And usually there won’t be an answer for you.
That’s the power of a poet. Because while we are the victims of both positive and negative words said aloud, we bring it back around with words that lie silently on a piece of paper that ignite the feelings you feel.
We have the power to instill questions inside you where we provide no more answers.
